The FJM Clinic Staff brings instructional and performance experience from the nations top college and high school marching bands, drum corps, winter guards, dance teams, and twirling lines. We recruit and employ talented performers and instructors from organizations such as The Cavaliers, The Glassmen, Boston Crusaders, Crown Guard, Northeast Independent, Corona, Blessed Sacrament, Zydeco, Northern Lights, Pride of Cincinnati, Onyx, the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, the University of Connecticut, the University of Kentucky, Louisiana State University, the University of Nebraska, Purdue University, The Ohio State University, the University of Cincinnati, the University of Notre Dame, North Carolina State University, Bowling Green State University, and Miami University.
Each clinic is run by a clinic administrator with an extensive background in education, leadership, and pageantry instruction. With a combined 30 years of FJM clinic experience, our three administrators hold bachelors and masters degrees in education, music, and educational leadership.

MEGAN ALTHAUS Majorette/Twirling
Megan is from Sidney, Ohio has been twirling for 11 years with the Impulse Baton and Dance Studio where she instructs both dance and baton classes. She was a four-year member of her high school marching band as a twirler and member of the color guard, serving as a co-captain and choreographer for two years. Megan currently attends the University of Dayton where she is majoring in Visual Communication Design and twirling for the Pride of Dayton Marching Band.
KELSEY BALLANCE Drum Major/Leadership
Kelsey is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where she majored in Fiction Writing. She performed with the University of Pittsburgh Marching Band, where she served as the alto sax section leader and squad leader, and also was a member of the pep band, and the University Concert Ensemble. Kelsey was the drum major for the Pine-Richland High School marching band in Pennsylvania.
HARRY BARBEE Drum Major/Leadership
Harry was a member of and drum major for the Lee County High School Marching Yellow Jackets. He also performed with the community orchestra and worked as a mentor within the Lee County School System. Harry is a student at North Carolina State University, double majoring in American Politics and Sociology. He is a trombonist for the Power Sound of the South Marching Band as well as the Varsity Pep Band.
DAVID BARNHART Drum Major/Leadership
David is from New Philadelphia, OH and currentyl attends The University of Akron, majoring in Music Education. In high school, David served as field commander for the New Philadelphia Marching Quaker Band and was also a member and section leader of the New Philadelphia Indoor Percussion Ensemble. Currently, he is a member of the University of Akron's "Ohio Pride" Marching Band.
STACEY CHAPARRO Color Guard
Stacey is a graduate of Kutztown University where she is majored in Secondary Spanish Education. She was the captain for the Pocono Mountain West High School Colorguard in Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania. Stacey has been a color guard instructor at PMWHS, and is currently instructing the color guard at Wilson High School in Pennsylvania.
ELENA COBA Color Guard
Elena is from Miamisburg, Ohio. She has been a feature soloist for the Miamisburg High School Winter Guard as well as with the Onyx Independent World Winter Guard and the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps. She currently attends Ball State University, majoring in Accounting, and teaches the Pendelton Heights High School Winter Guard.
PEGGY DEARDURFF
Majorette/Twirling
Peggy has been twirling for 17 years at Razz-M-Tazz studios in Ohio. As a competitive twirler, she has won numerous individual and group awards. Peggy was a member of the Benjamin Logan High School majorettes, serving as their captain for 3 years. She also has been teaching twirling for in Ohio for the past 8 years. Peggy is from Belle Center, Ohio.
EMILY ELS Color Guard
Emily is from Coshocton, OH and currently attends the University of Cincinnati where she is majoring in Health Sciences pursuing her Pre-Med degree. She went to River View High School where she served as captain of the color guard. Emily has been a member of the Consortio Winter Guard and served as captain of the Zydeco Open Winter Guard. She has taught at La Salle High School.
DANIELLE GLADEAU Color Guard
Danielle is a graduate of Miamisburg High School where she was a long time member of the Miamisburg Winterguard and Fall guard. She is currently attending Miami University, working toward her degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a member of Consortio Winter Guard, Zydeco World Winter Guard and an instructor for the Miamisburg Color Guard programs.
COURTNEY GLEASON
Color Guard & Majorette/Twirling
Courtney joins us from West Chester, OH where she attended Lakota West High School. While there she was section leader and part of the Leadership Team for the Lakota West color guard and winter guard. She also served as the marching band's feature twirler for three years. She is currently attending the University of Cincinnati majoring in Biology. She is also UC's Feature Twirler.
ALICIA GORMAN
Color Guard
Alicia is a resident of Lowell, Massachusetts. She has performed with The Boston Crusaders, St. Patrick's of Stoneham, MA, Emerald Marquis Colorguard, and Blessed Sacrament Winterguard. Alicia has also served as a movement technician with Blessed Sacrament as well as instructing color guards in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Florida. She was the color guard instructor for the Boston College Screaming Eagle Marching Band. She was a receptionist and make-up artist for Escape Salon.
MEGAN HARMON
Majorette/Twirling
Megan has been twirling for 12 years as part of the Positive Outlook Twirling Teams and 10 years with the Star Performance Centre Dance Team. She has been a coach and assistant with both groups. Megan is from Hamilton, Ohio and currently attends Miami University where she is majoring in accounting and business management. Megan twirls for the Miami University Marching Band.
RACHEL HARNEY
Drum Major/Leadership
Rachel joins us from Middletown, OH having graduated from Miami University with a dual degree in Music Education and Flute Performance with a minor in Arts Management. She was drum major for MU's marching band for two years and a student conductor for the MU Wind Ensemble. She has interned with the Cleveland Orchestra in their Education and Community Programs Department and has had extensive performing experience with chamber ensembles and large musical groups.
KELLY HOLTGREFE Color Guard & Majorette/Twirling
Kelly calls Cincinnati, OH home and she attended Lakota West High School where she was the marching band's feature twirler and a color guard member. While in high school, she was also a member of the Lakota West Winter Guard and a strong Leadership Team member. Currently, Kelly is the Feature Twirler for Ohio Northern University's Marching Band. At Ohio Northern she is studying Marketing with an Advertising Design minor.
MATT HUGHES

Originally from Stevens, Pennsylvania, Matt currently lives in Centerville, Ohio. Matt graduated from Shippensburg Universitywhere he received his degree in Business Education and is currently pursuing his MBA with a concentration in Finance and Marketing. Matt served as drum major for both his high school as well as the Shippensburg University Marching Band. Currently Matt teaches Business at Kettering Fairmont High School and works with several marching bands and color guards in Ohio
CHRISTINE HUTCHISON
Color Guard
Christine is from Carmel, IN having attended Carmel High School where she served as the Flag Line Section Leader for their marching band. She also was involved in the gold medal winning winter guard at Carmel. She currently attends Ivy Tech Community College in Richmond, IN.
MATT KOEHLER
Clinic Administrator
Matt is a graduate of Bowling Green State University where he received a degree in music education, specializing in both choral and instrumental instruction. He was drum major for the BG's Falcon Marching Band for three years. Additionally, Matt was a member of several other bands and choirs, including BGSU's male a cappella group, the HeeBeeBG's. He is currently a choir director for Louisville City Schools in Louisville, OH.
BRYCE LOWMAN
Drum Major/Leadership
Bryce joins us from Topeka, KS where he attended Topeka West High School. Since then, he has graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree and a minor in Earth Science at Emporia State University. While there, he was section leader of the Emporia Marching Hornets and recently served as their marching technician. Bryce has also been a member of the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps.
CHELSEA MCLANDSBOROUGH
Color Guard
Chelsea is from New Philadelphia, Ohio and is a student at Kent State University, earning her degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a member of Kaleidoscope Winterguard as well as the New Philadelphia marching band, serving as a section and squad leader. She currently marches with Collage Independent Winterguard and is the color guard instructor for New Philadelphia High School Color Guard and the Strasburg High School Marching band.
ALINA OSOWSKI
Dance
Alina is attending Miami University of Ohio where she is majoring in Zoology and Pre-Vet intention. She currently choreographs at the Howard School of Dance and has performed with the Miami Valley Dance Company, the Alter Lancerettes. Alina is a member of the nationally ranked Miami University Dance Team.
MOLLY PALECEK
Color Guard
Molly got her start in color guard with the Carmel High School Marching Band and Winter Guard from Carmel, IN. In her four years with her alma mater, her school achieved Bands of America Grand National and Winter Guard International gold as well as multiple finalist placements. Molly was the Flag Line Section Leader her senior year and had the pleasure of assisting with several clinics run by her high school guard. Molly attends Ball State University where she is a Fine Arts major and a member of the Ball State color guard. In addition, Molly is a member of the Pride of Mid-America Marching Band and Usurpation Winter Guard from Kokomo, IN. Molly has also worked with the Carmel High School Winter Guard.
JAMES SCHLENKERT
Color Guard
Jimmy is from Detroit, MI having attended Lakeland High School. Currently, he attends Oakland Community College pursuing a degree in Theater. He has had numerous guard experience having marched with the Bluecoats and Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as the Pride of Cincinnati color guard. He recently served as captain for Zydeco World Color Guard.
MATT SMITH
Drum Major/Leadership
Matt is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Dayton where he served as the drum major for the Pride of Dayton marching band and conducted numerous ensembles. He has worked with several high school and middle school band programs across the country and was the Director of Bands at Charlotte Catholic High School in North Carolina for 3 years. Matt received his Master of Music degree in Conducting from West Virginia University. He is currently pursing his doctorate at the University of Connecticut.
NICOLE SPADAFORE
Drum Major/Leadership
Nicole is from Wauseon, Ohio where she attended Wauseon High School. Nicole was the drum major of the WHS marching band for 2 years. She is a graduate of Bowling Green State University where she earned her degree in Music Education. Nicole performed with several concert bands and choirs at BGSU and currently served as the President of the Collegiate Chorale. She was the accompanist for the Men's Chorus at BGSU and works with high school drum majors in the Toledo and Bowling Green areas.
Our students at FJM Leadership, Drum Major and Color Guard Camp have had a great week. Today they will perform in the final show, showcasing all of the performance aspects they learned this week.

JORDAN TEMPLIN Dance
Jordan is attending Loyola University of Chicago where she is studying nursing. She has danced at the Wendy's School of Dance in Centerville, Ohio and has been a member of the Alter Lancerettes. She is currently a member of the co-ed cheerleading team at Loyola.
KYLE VON NEUMANN
Drum Major/Leadership
Kyle is from Clayton, OH having attended Carroll High School in Dayton, OH. He has taught band camps for Carroll, Piqua, Edgewood, and Olentangy High Schools. In college, he is very involved in the national honorary band fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi. He has served as section leader of Miami University's Marching Band and is an active member in many other ensembles including the Steel Drum band, Wind Ensemble, and Men's Glee Club at Miami.
AARON WARYK
Drum Major/Leadership
Aaron is a recent graduate of Bowling Green State University having earned his degree in Music Education. He is from North Ridgeville, OH where he served as section leader for the North Ridgeville Marching Band. At BGSU he was a member of the Falcon Marching Band as well as the Fundraising Coordinator for the BGSU Men's Chorus. He is also a member of Phi Mu Alpha, a National Music Fraternity where he also served as Fundraising Coordinator.
SAM WATSON
Color Guard
Sam is from New Philadelphia, OH and is currently attending the Buckeye Vocational School where he is learning to become a pharmacy technician. Sam has marched with The Cavaliers and The Cadet Drum and Bugle Corps, where he was named rookie of the year in 2010. Sam has also spun with perennial independent world finalists, the Pride of Cincinnati and Zydeco Color Guard. He has also served as an instructor for The Cadets earlier this summer. He has taught the Centerville High School color and winter guards and is currently teaching at New Philadelphia High School.
MARYBETH WILLEY
Clinic Administrator
Marybeth is from Orlando, Florida where she teaches the Timber Creek Regiment, working with their Brass Section and Drum Majors. She was a member of the Centerville Jazz Band where she was section leader and drum major. Marybeth graduated from Miami University where she majored in Music Composition and was a member of the Miami University Marching Band and served as their drum major. She has worked with the Centerville Jazz Band as a marching, brass, and drum major instructor. Marybeth is currently attending Northern Kentucky University where she is a Social Studies Education Major.
JESSICA WILSON Dance
Jessica is from Englewood, OH and currently attends Miami University of Ohio where she is majoring in Exercise Science with a Pre-Physical Therapy intention. She has danced with the Margaret Leiber School of Dance in Brookville, OH. Jessica is a member of the nationally ranked Miami University Dance Team. She is also a zumba instructor.
NANCY ZHENG Dance
Nancy is from Centerville, Ohio and currently attends the Universityof Southern California where she is majoring in Business Administration and Management. She was a member of the Centerville Senior Coeds, the Centerville Dance Company, and the South Dayton Dance Theatre for 5 years. Nancy is currently a member of the Chaotic 3 competitive hip-hop dance team at USC. She has had the opportunity to work with the choreographer for the Black Eyed Peas.
